Reminder: Lift Station Policy
Owners & Residents,
If you live in any of the following buildings, you are attached to a lift station.
- #6145
- #6147
- #6151
- #6159
It's very important that you flush nothing except human waste and toilet paper. Wipes(including baby wipes, dude wipes, cleaning wipes etc.), tampons, paper towels ARE NOT flushable, even if the labeling on the container says that it is. On several occasions, residents have flushed these items, and they clog the lift station pumps. When the pumps cannot function, raw sewage will back up into the attached units. Obviously, this is very, very bad.
Every time this occurs, it costs the association several thousand dollars. This cost filters back down to you in terms of higher monthly HOA fees. The association adopted the following policy in 2017 regarding the lift stations.
Cornerstone Homes Lift Station Policy
It is your responsibility as an owner to ensure that everyone in your unit abides by the policy.
If you are NOT attached to these stations, please abide by the policy anyway. The City of Madison has also issued several statements about wipes clogging and damaging sewage treatment equipment, which in turn is passed on to us through our water bills.
Thanks for your consideration,
The Cornerstone Homes of Richmond Hill Board of Directors
